A warm welcome to us at Eksgården, situated in Gårdby on Öland’s beautiful east coast and close to most of the things Öland has to offer. Borgholm, Färjestaden, Kalmar,  golf courses, beautiful beaches, the countryside and a culture experiences within easy reach giving plenty of opportunities for you to choose what you wish to experience and to discover.

Here is everything for a happy and peaceful stay or a conference. The old Öland farm, together with other buildings, has been carefully restored and offers you a homely environment.

Many of the buildings are old and some go as far back as to the 18th century. Eksgården is beautifully situated close to Gårdby Church on the  road parallel to the east coast and where  the forest meets the Alvar and where meadows spread out against the unbroken horizon of the Baltic Sea.

Our guests stay in a pleasant and relaxing environment.
The farm buildings have been carefully refurbished and are accessible for handicapped guests.

You can choose between refurbished rooms in the old farm house, newer rooms in Ölandhuset built with very thick walls of Öland natural stone or in the old buildings, Erikshuset or the Grindstugan from the end of the 18th century. A large number of the 27 bedrooms are accessible for handicapped guests, as are our beautiful reception rooms. Of course it is a non-smoking environment. Breakfast and other meals are served in the restaurand of the inn.

Gårdby offers you  a very calm feeling.
Along the paths and in the meadows you can come across pheasants and hares. The courtyard at Eksgården gives shelter on a windy day. Here you can get something to eat or drink or just sit and relax and maybe read a book or enjoy the peaceful environment.

A lot can be said about our courtyard but you really need to experience it. You can also sit in one of our meadows and look out onto the fields and listen to the sound of the wind rustling in the trees and occassionally the chimes of the church bells which may be the only sounds to break the silence. An occasional neighing from the horses or mooing from the cows in the pasture may also be heard.

As a meeting place, Eksgården can offer you, as well as accommodation,  a restauant, conference facilities, a handicfaft shop, an exhibition hall or just a space to while away the time.

The restaurant has the capacity to serve all kinds of meals and snacks from home made cooking to gourmet meals. In the old barn from the 17th century there is an area suited to many different kinds of occassions such as conferences, meetings, parties, wedding receptions, barbecue evenings, musical events to name just a few. And not forgetting the Ox Market in the autumn.
